  1. This is my “essay” face.

I’m working on a 5-7 page paper about why my Intro. to Literary Theory class is required for us English majors. I’ve actually convinced myself that it’s a good requirement, it certainly develops some really useful base skills.

This does not mean that I am not happy to be finished with the class, however. I’ll be turning in this essay at some point from 4:30-7pm tomorrow. Then, all that’s left to worry about is a performance of The Laramie Project (playing both a meth head, and a potentially gay bartender) and some dramaturgical stuff for Tuesday night.

Then at some point on Wednesday, I’ll be back to Colorado Springs to enjoy the company of some of the best people in this world.

For being my very first finals week in college, I’m handling it all pretty well. I’m not stressing out too much, even when I don’t get enough sleep. Although I can certainly chalk that up to my totally excellent friends who I get to chill out with and the fact that only one of my final grades have been a test, the others being projects or essays or portfolios.

I’m really excited for the next semester. I’ll be taking Hip-Hop Poetics (Genre Studies), Intro to Film Studies, Honors Intro to Women’s Literature, History of Jazz, and an Intro Poetry Workshop. I’m going to be drowning myself in literature and music and film and that’s awesome.

Also, I plan to start doing a weekly post on about an album—not necessarily a new one, but just a little reflection on a record that I love. I’m hoping to start that over the break.

One last note: If you didn’t know, I started a creative writing Tumblog: http://savingthisforlater.tumblr.com/. I’m having a lot of fun with it!

I hate to do silly little posts like this, but I just wanted to scribble something out. Good luck with the incoming Monday, followers.
